Moodabidri, in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, is an old centre of Jainism and is known for its eighteen basadis, as Jain temples are called here. The best known is the Saavira Kambada Basadi, the Thousand Pillar temple, built in the 15th century.
This view is from inside the pillared hall of a basadi in the town, looking towards the shrine.
