महत्व · Significance
Pitru Paksha is the fortnight in which ancestors are remembered. Shraddha for each forebear is offered on the tithi of their passing, with tarpan, pind-daan and the giving of food. It ends on Sarva Pitru Amavasya, and new undertakings are traditionally not begun during it.
