महत्व · Significance

Diwali, the festival of lamps, falls on the Amavasya of Kartik. It marks Shri Ram's return to Ayodhya, and it is the night on which Maa Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh are worshipped in homes and places of business.

Lakshmi Puja is performed after sunset, during pradosh kaal. Homes are cleaned and lit with diyas, rangoli is drawn at the entrance, and sweets are shared with family and neighbours.
